Scott Varwig is a founder and Managing Director at Ottert, L.L.C.  Scott has more than 30 years of professional experience in information technology, finance, healthcare, and real estate.

Scott is a subject matter expert in data analytics, digital transformation, project management, data architecture, database management, ETL, SQL, business and systems analysis, systems development, finance, strategy, financial modeling, and real estate (finance, deal structure, acquisition, development, management).

Prior to forming Ottert, L.L.C., Scott was a vice president at Citadel Group Limited, a Chicago-based healthcare merchant bank.  He was responsible for managing the firm’s healthcare real estate portfolio (existing, acquisition, and development projects), business development, operations, finance, strategic planning, and information systems.

Prior to joining Citadel Group Limited, Scott held positions in information technology as program manager, project manager, business analyst, systems analyst, and programmer analyst at several companies including A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. (now Wells Fargo Advisors), Firstar Bank (now US Bank), Managed Prescription Services (subsidiary of Humana), Kraft Foodservice (now US Foodservice), The First National Bank of Chicago (now Chase), and St. Luke’s Hospital.

Scott’s professional experience includes:

• Successfully implemented and managed an electronic, real-time pharmacy benefit management system on time and under budget as a subcontractor for a Department of Defense CHAMPUS/TRICARE contract.  This was the first system in the history of CHAMPUS/TRICARE to successfully process electronic, real-time pharmacy transactions on the first day of the program.
• Systems developer and production support expert for an application portfolio supporting a $4.5 billion institutional foodservice business in all aspects including procurement, warehousing, sales, distribution, and related functions.
• Managed application development and support for banking corporate cash management and wire transfer (domestic and international) systems.
• Closed financing of over $500 million in healthcare real estate.
